چکیده
Throughout the last decade, and particularly in 2022, water scarcity has become a critical concern Morocco other Mediterranean countries. The lack of rainfall during spring was worsened by succession heat waves summer. To address this drought, innovative solutions, including use new technologies such as hydrogels, will be essential to transform agriculture. This paper presents findings study that evaluated impact hydrogel application on onion (Allium cepa) cultivation Meknes, Morocco. treatments investigated comprised two different types hydrogel-based soil additives (Arbovit® polyacrylate Huminsorb® polyacrylate), applied at rates (30 20 kg/ha), irrigated levels supply (100% 50% daily crop evapotranspiration; ETc). Two control were included, without with both amounts. experiment conducted an open field using completely randomized design. results indicated significant hydrogel-type dose plant growth, evidenced various vegetation parameters. Among hydrogels tested, Polyacrylate produced most favorable outcomes, treatment T9 (100%, HP, 30 kg/ha) yielding 70.55 t/ha; represented increase 11 t/ha compared 100% ETc application. Moreover, combination stress showed promising results, T4 (HP, kg, 50%) producing almost same yield while saving 208 mm water.

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of sulphur application on growth, yield and quality of onion at Horticulture Farm of Institute of Agriculture, Visva-Bharati, Sriniketan. The treatments consisted of six incremental doses of sulphur application (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 kg ha-1) and no sulphur application (control, 0 kg S ha-1). Treatments were arranged in Randomized Block Design...

Field experiment were conducted at CSK HPKV Research Farm, Palampur during Rabi seasons of 2000-01 and 2001-02, to study the response of onion (Allium cepa var Patna red) at four sulphur levels (0, 15, 30 and 60 kg ha(-1)) applied through Gypsum and S95. The analysis was done to allocate the limited availability of sulphur for maximizing net profit over fertilizer cost. The results show that th...
متن کاملOnion ( Allium cepa ) – Ethnomedicinal and therapeutic properties
Onion is one of the civilization’s oldest medicines and is described as the dynamite of natural foods. In the current day scenario, herbal medicines have gained global significance with both medicinal and cost-effective implications. Thus, scientific appraisal has turned out to be a prerequisite for recognition of physical fitness in nature. An exceptionally strong antioxidant, onion is the ric...
متن کاملVolunteer Potato (Solanum tuberosum) Control with Herbicides and Cultivation in Onion (Allium cepa)1
Volunteer potatoes are difficult to control in onions and can greatly reduce onion growth and yield. Herbicides and cultivation were evaluated for control of simulated volunteer potatoes in onions in 1996 and 2000. Three interrow cultivations did not control potatoes in the onion row and the remaining plants reduced onion yield 50 and 73% compared with the hand-weeded checks. Three applications...
متن کاملDetermination of antidiabetic activity in Allium cepa (onion) tissue cultures.
Seedling, seedling parts and callus cultures of onion were tested for their antidiabetic activity by feeding the tissue-extracts to diabetic rats. The results indicated much higher antidiabetic activity in callus cultures as compared to natural bulbs of onion. These results may be of pharmaceutical significance since the callus can be used as an alternative source for the isolation of antidiabe...
